Red numbers mark Gaudí's works and the other highlights of the monumental centre, and blue E labels mark the four gates of the park.

Highlights on the map

1. Dragon Stairway: A twin flight of steps from the entrance esplanade up to the Hypostyle Room, with the emblem of Catalonia and, further up, the tile-shard mosaic dragon, or salamander.
2. Hypostyle Room: Planned as the market of the estate: 86 fluted columns hold up Nature Square, under small domes with tile-shard mosaics by Josep Maria Jujol.
3. Nature Square: The large esplanade at the centre of the park, partly dug into the rock and partly on top of the Hypostyle Room, edged by Jujol's undulating tile-shard bench.
4. Porter's Lodge: One of the two entrance pavilions on Carrer d'Olot, designed by Gaudí as the gatekeeper's house; it now holds an exhibition of the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA).
5. Laundry Room Portico: A wave-shaped portico of unworked stone on slanting columns; one column is carved as a washerwoman, which gives it its name.
6. Austria Gardens: Gardens on land first meant for building plots and later used as a municipal plant nursery, named after a gift of trees from Austria in 1977.
7. Gaudí House Museum: The house where Gaudí lived until 1925, a year before his death; the park ticket does not include it.

Entrances

• E1 · Carretera del Carmel: The entrance the park recommends, also for visitors with reduced mobility; the taxi stand and the coach park are on Carretera del Carmel. Carretera del Carmel 23, north-east side of the park.
• E2 · Carrer d'Olot: The historic main gate between the two entrance pavilions, at the foot of the Dragon Stairway. Carrer d'Olot, south side of the park.
• E3 · Carrer de Marianao: A gate east of the pavilions that the park names for visitors with reduced mobility, after Carretera del Carmel. Carrer de Marianao, where it meets Carrer d'Olot.
• E4 · Avinguda del Santuari: Reached by escalator; the entrance the park suggests from Lesseps and Vallcarca metro (line 3) and from the H6 and D40 buses. Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya, south-west side.

The plan shows the monumental centre from above. From the Carrer d'Olot gate, between the two pavilions, the Dragon Stairway climbs to the Hypostyle Room, which holds up Nature Square; the Laundry Room Portico leads off towards Casa Larrard, the Austria Gardens lie to the east and the Gaudí House Museum stands to the north-east. Nature Square, the Hypostyle Room, the Dragon Stairway, the Laundry Room Portico and the Austria Gardens have a second ticket check and a one-way route. Garden positions are approximate.
